Airdrie RCMP is hoping tips from the public will help identify a man and a woman wanted for questioning in the theft of $951 worth of Crest White Strips teeth whitening strips on July 13, according to Media Liaison Constable Megan Fillion.
According to Fillion, the man entered the Shoppers Drug Mark on Market Street in King’s Heights at approximately X and began putting boxes of Crest White Strips in to a gift bag. The man was confronted by a store clerk but fled the store and got into a white SUV, fleeing the scene. The clerk was not able to note the license plate on the vehicle.
Investigators believe a woman may also be involved in the theft and are also looking to speak with her. Photos taken from the store’s video surveillance system have been provided and RCMP is hoping someone will recognize one or both of the suspects, Fillion said.
The two suspects may be involved in a similar theft at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Calgary approximately one hour later, according to Fillion.
While stealing something intended to whiten your smile might seem odd, Fillion said X.
The strips contain peroxide and are not used in the manufacturing of illegal drugs, unlike cold medicine which is an item more commonly stolen from drug stores.
