Kudos to FortisAlberta for helping out the Legion
Dear editor, The Royal Canadian Legion Airdrie #288 would like to thank the FortisAlberta group of Airdrie who helped us out of a bind. We had to replace an old safe, built around 1912, which was extremely heavy.
It had to be dragged out into the parking lot by a truck.
A Fortis worker was suspicious when he saw the safe in the parking lot and called the RCMP.
After a brief discussion of our dilemma and explaining that we made the drag marks on the pavement, the Fortis worker offered to donate heavy equipment to pick-up the safe and dispose of it at no cost.
I admire his concern for our safety and that of the community.
With citizens and companies like this, we all can benefit with those extra eyes making our community a safe one to raise our families in.
To the Fortis family in Airdrie: We thank you for being a good neighbour and silent policeman.
Bob McNevin, 1st Vice President of Airdrie Legion #288
