RCMP Notebook: Criminal steals liquor from local store

Feb 01, 2012 05:23 pm | Trevor Bacque

An afternoon robbery left the local Superstore Liquor Store down $300 in stock after a brazen theft, Jan. 24.

At 3:20 p.m., a male suspect entered the store and stuffed several bottles of liquor in a re-useable grocery bag and backpack. He went to the counter and paid for some items. However, he returned and attempted to take more, but was caught stealing by clerks and fled the store.

The man is described as Caucasian with a slim build, short dark hair and a goatee. He is believed to have been wearing a dark jacket and dark shirt.

Trouble at Tim’s

A man’s wallet was stolen from the Main Street Tim Hortons, Jan. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

He was at the counter ordering when two men stole the wallet out of his jacket and fled the coffee shop. They travelled to the Shell Gas station on Main Street and made a purchase of $132. Further transactions were attempted, but the man had cancelled the card.

The first suspect is described as between 30 and 40 years old with a dark-coloured jacket and fur around the hood, a dark shirt and black pants. He has a slim build, prominent nose and mustache.

The second man is described as dark-skinned with a large build, facial hair and a shaved head. He is believed to be wearing a down-filled black winter jacket with fur around the hood and a grey Air Jordan Flight hoodie.
