Redford's pre-campaign visit will be costly
Dear Editor, Last week, PC Premier (Alison) Redford re-announced $2.8 million in provincial taxpayer dollars for buses and maintenance buildings.
This means, of course, the City’s bureaucracy will have to grow, forcing Airdrie to raise more in taxes to pay for this GreenTRIP initiative.
If these projects like Genesis Place and now GreenTRIP cannot stand alone, how are they of any use to the majority of the people who have to support their existence into perpetuity?
These types of projects are forced on towns and cities all across the country.
I’m sure independent business would handle this stuff, but the bureaucratic red tape and regulations probably make it cost prohibitive.
Thanks, Premier Redford, for blowing more taxes!
Brent McFadden, Airdrie
