Sport Shorts: Local co-ed ringette tourney set for April 13-15
Any adults interested in trying out ringette is invited to register in the inaugural Jack n’ Jill Co-ed Classic being held April 13 to 15 at the Ron Ebbesen Arena.
The event, which is aimed at getting more people interested in ringette is being organized by Amy Stewart, who says as of right now there are a total of eight teams registered for the tournament.
“People should get involved so they can learn the sport better,” said Stewart. “Ringette is a very fun, fast- paced sport. It’s great especially for parents that have girls in ringette. It’s much different playing then just watching your daughter play. The tournament is going to be so much fun.”
The cost is $50 per player, and each team is guaranteed to play a total of three games during the tournament.
