Luck @ Your Library fundraiser a huge success
Luck @ Your Library, on May 11, was a roaring success, thanks to strong support from businesses and individuals in and around Airdrie.
With a host of activities and entertainment, the evening proved to be a lot of fun for those in attendance.
“People had a really good time,” said Airdrie Public Library (APL) director Janine Jevne.
With Mayor Peter Brown on hand to up the level of excitement and competition, the Mayor’s Cup Challenge proved to be highly popular, resulting in a roll-off to determine the hole-in-one champion.
The raffle and auction items ran the gamut from an iPad, Kobo e-readers and a diamond-and-sapphire ring, to theatre, opera and symphony tickets, golf packages and restaurant gift certificates.
Throughout the evening, MC Rob Jamieson kept things hopping, and auctioneer Al Habberfield, with wife Debbie as assistant, capped off the evening with a lively auction.
All in all, it was a great way to spend a Friday evening, with the library coming out a winner.
APL is especially appreciative of the volunteers – including several members of the Airdrie Lioness Club and the Airdrie and Crossfield Lions clubs – who did an extraordinary job in making sure that Luck @ Your Library ran smoothly.
