Season’s passes are available at the Bert Church Live Theatre and residents are encouraged to take advantage of the savings for this year’s lineup.

“For the value and the calibre of entertainment, the seasonal packages are by far the best ticket in town,” said Dennis Tinkler, theatre manager. “I’d like to see more people take advantage of it.”

Season’s passes are now available for both professional and family series and offer several perks for purchasers including 10 per cent off the individual cost of shows and waiving of all service charges.

Ticket holders will also receive two adult drop-in passes for Genesis Place, bring a friend tickets for Dennis Chang and Lunch at Allen’s shows, and a complimentary ticket for Alberta Arts Days performances John Wort Hannam and Roman Danylo, to be held on Sept. 28 and 29, respectively.

Professional season’s passes are $240 for all eight professional shows including Steven Page, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, International Guitar Night, Barney Bentall, Jason McCoy, Lunch at Allen’s, Dennis Chang Manouche Quartet and the Celtic Tenors. Show will be held throughout the year, starting in October and wrapping up in March.

Family series season’s passes are $145 and cover admission to four shows including Norman Foote, Splash N’ Boots, Calgary Opera Hannaraptor and Prairie Mountain Fiddlers.

The season starts in September and wraps up in April. Family series ticket holders will also receive two family drop-in passes for Genesis Place.

According to Tinkler, the performance lineup offers something for everyone.

“We have pop, jazz, classical, folk, rock, country, acoustic and some comedy,” he said. “We have some really fabulous talents that aren’t really well known… these guys are as good as anyone out there.”

Tinkler said he is particularly looking forward to Dennis Chang’s show, a guitar player with a mainstream jazz feel who performs along with a four-piece ensemble.

“Dennis Chang is one of the most accomplished and finest guitar players I have ever seen in my life,” he said. “When you see this guy play you will be amazed.”

Tinkler said Lunch at Allen’s, made up of Canadian singers Murray McLauchlan, Marc Jordan, Ian Thomas and Cindy Church, is also likely to please.

The group is touring for their new album, More Lunch at Allen’s, and offer listeners a folk feel.

Tinkler added he is also anticipating International Guitar Night, a performance that has become an annual tradition for attendees at the Bert Church Live Theatre show. Every year, the show attracts more than 300 attendees, nearly packing the 377-seat theatre, according to Tinkler.

“We do that show every year because it is so popular,” said Tinkler. “(The players) are truly the best in the world.”

Tinkler said music lovers are likely to enjoy the entire lineup of performers.

“We do get the very best musical artists in the world,” said Tinkler. “You can go and see some very fine shows in Calgary and Edmonton, but we have the very best calibre entertainment… and it’s here and it’s affordable.”
