Airdrie guide updated and on the stands

The fall edition of Airdrie’s In the City Guide has a noticeably fresh look.

“The design is a bit simpler,” said Lynda Phelan, Team Leader of Corporate Communications for the City of Airdrie.

Phelan said there is better use of white space, larger fonts and more images. The guide, which provides information on Airdrie’s recreational activities, has been colour-coded.

“The overall effect is that it’s an easier publication to use,” she said. “We just wanted to bring awareness to lots of different things people can do.”

Included in the guide are lists of programming available at Genesis Place and the city’s arenas. Airdrie Transit schedules, parks, off-leash dog areas and activities available at the Airdrie Public Library are also featured. In the City hit the stands throughout Airdrie on Aug. 24.

“They can pick it up at Genesis Place, at City Hall and we also put it up in magazine stands in the county,” Phelan said.

Phelan encourages residents to go online and fill out a survey regarding the new look of the guide.

Those who do will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a variety of prizes.

“It should take you less than a minute,” Phelan said, noting there are about seven questions in the survey.

Prizes include Genesis Place passes, Bert Church Theatre tickets and a composter from Waste and Recycling.

The survey is also in the guide and residents can drop it off at City Hall or Genesis Place, according to Phelan.
