Good for your body and the environment
Re: “This former closet vegan is no longer shy about her choice,” Column, Aug. 24
Dear Editor,
I chose to go vegan more than 20 years ago and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. This former closet vegan is no longer shy about her choice.
I’m proud that my cruelty-free food choices are good for the environment and my body. Not only do I enjoy a better variety of food than I did when I ate meat, eggs, and dairy products, I’m eager to tell others about all the tasty vegan options available.
More and more people are going vegan every day, from former President Bill Clinton to popular celebrities, including Alicia Silverstone, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jason Mraz, Anne Hathaway, and Russell Brand, to the boy next door. Each vegan spares more 100 animals every year and that’s something to truly feel good about.
It’s easy to be green: Just visit www.PETA.org for free vegan recipes, product suggestions, and tips on making the transition. And don’t keep the information all to yourself: encourage others to go vegan, too.
