Airdrie Chamber of Commerce hosts business lease presentation
Airdrie and area-based business people are invited to attend a presentation on commercial leases at the Woodside Golf Course on Sept. 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The presentation, being put on by Airdrie Chamber of Commerce, Airdrie Economic Development and Community Futures Centre West, is part of the Chamber’s luncheon series.
“We have heard from chamber members that negotiating a lease is something they wanted to learn about,” said Lorna Hunt, Airdrie Chamber of Commerce’s executive director.
“We had thought of this speaker for quite a while.”
The Lease Coach, Dale Willerton, an author and professional who specializes in lease consulting, will cover a number of topics including how to negotiate for a lease renewal rent reduction, how to negotiate for mid-term rent reduction, secrets of successful site selection, leasing with no deposits, maximizing your tenant allowance and free rent inducements.
According to Hunt, the presentation, will benefit any business owner either leasing or planning to lease commercial, retail or office space.
“This will also help a home-based business that has outgrown their home and they are making plans to open up a commercial or store front,” said Hunt.
“This (presentation) will help them make their plans.”
The event is $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-members and will feature a buffet lunch. All attendees will receive a free leasing CD.
The Airdrie Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit group in support of local business, has about 485 members.
