A woman was taken to a hospital in Calgary by STARS Air Ambulance after she fell asleep and rolled her vehicle at 1:30 p.m., Oct. 15, according to police.

Airdrie Rural RCMP, Emergency Medical Services, and Rocky View County Fire Services responded to the single-vehicle crash on Range Road 252 near Township Road 273A.

The driver, who said she fell asleep while driving southbound on Range Road 252, was seriously injured.

Stolen parts

Two men stole a $6,300 part from a vehicle parked in the Airdrie Superstore parking lot, Oct. 10 around 3 p.m.

The owner of the car came out of the store, located north of Veterans Boulevard, and saw two unidentified men underneath her car.

The unknown men fled in an older-model silver Chrysler Sedan with an unknown licence plate, but not before stealing the catalytic converter off the woman’s vehicle.

According to a statement released by Airdrie RCMP, two similar incidents have been reported in the past.
