Woman 'dismayed' by Airdrie mother speaking out
Re: “Pastor applauds Airdrie mother for speaking up and taking action,” Oct. 26
Dear Editor,
As a frequent visitor to your normally progressive city I read the print version of your newspaper often.
Recently, I was greatly dismayed with the article by Tim Callaway fully supporting an Airdrie mother for speaking up and taking action.
My dismay comes from the result of her actions and the opportunity that was wasted by having the young man fired. A more Christian approach would be in teaching the employee how to judge what is morally correct - knowing what to say and when is a better choice. How hard would it have been to make a suggestion to his employer about training in emotional intelligence? There are many course options available that teach young and old alike.
The action taken appears to follow “an eye for an eye” belief. Is this Christian mentality or morality?
Cyber bullying does need to stop. As wise adults lets lead through an appropriately moral and supportive process.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
