Airdrie police have determined a suspicious death on Airdrie’s east side was a homicide.

On Jan. 12, at around 3:30 p.m., police officers discovered the body of Airdrie resident Garland Curtis, 40, after receiving a tip from a concerned individual.

Airdrie RCMP and the Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Section conducted an investigation into the death, which took place on Mountain Circle, in the community of Meadowbrook.

Police are asking for the public’s health in locating Curtis’ vehicle. It is described as a purple, 1994 four-door Saturn SL2 with Alberta licence plate EGF 166 with the driver’s side rear quarter panel repainted in a different shade of purple.

The cause of death is not being released.
