Car connected to murder in Airdrie found in Olds

Airdrie RCMP officers found the vehicle they were searching for in connection with an Airdrie homicide that took place Jan. 12.

Tips led police to the four-door purple Saturn, found abandoned 60 kilometres north of Airdrie in Olds, Jan. 21.

Police found Airdrie resident Garland Curtis, 40, dead in his home after a concerned resident called to report the missing man in mid January.

The Calgary medical examiner conducted an autopsy that revealed he was murdered.

They also discovered a car, usually associated with the residence in Airdrie’s Meadowbrook community, was missing.

According to a press release, the cause of death will not be released.

Police are asking for information from anyone who may have observed Curtis’ vehicle in or around the community of Olds between Jan. 9 and 15.

They are also looking for any possible video footage of roads in the area.
