Local team raises money for family of late coach

Sports Shorts:

The Airdrie Atom Rednecks, which lost its assistant coach Cory Goertzen in a car accident, Jan. 9, held a bottle drive fundraiser for the Goertzen family and raised $3,486.15. All of the proceeds will go to Goertzen’s wife, Audrey, and their five children. Anyone wishing to make additional donations to the family can do so through a trust fund that has been set up at the Bow Valley Credit Union in Airdrie.

Airdrie Aces

The Airdrie Aces competed at its fourth indoor track meet of the season at the Jack Simpson Open in Calgary, Jan. 28.
