Celtic Tenors on tap for Bert Church Theatre appearance
Bert Church Live Theatre will be welcoming the Celtic Tenors, a band from Ireland formed in 2000, on March 2.
The Celtic Tenors are best known for their Celtic, and operatic music. The band has released a total of seven records, and have had some singles make it to No. 1 in Ireland and Germany.
The three-member band will bring their classical voice repertoire to the small, intimate venues of the Bert Church Theatre (BCT) for what BCT publicist Jennifer Cormier hopes will be a packed house.
“If you like traditional Celtic music, popular covers, impressive harmonies while melding together elements of classical, folk, and pop music then you will not want to miss this unforgettable night of entertainment,” said Cormier. “The group will share more than music as quick-witted banter flies between them. They will be highlighting their new album Feels Like Home, as well as other Irish and Celtic favourites.”
Currently touring the world, the Celtic Tenors will be making stops in Olds and Leduc before gracing the Bert Church Theatre stage March 2.
“This group is world renowned; they have performed for royalty,” said Cormier. “Come and take in an absolutely phenomenal musical experience in our intimate theatre. It will be an experience you will remember for a long time to come.”
With only two shows left in the 2012/2013 season in the Calgary Opera March 10, and the Prairie Mountain Fiddlers April 6, Cormier said that people who attend the Celtic Tenors show will get a glimpse into what the theatre has to offer for next season.
“We will be doing a soft launch for many of next seasons acts at the Celtic Tenors concert,” she said. “They will be ‘in the know’ if they attend the concert on March 2.”
Cormier added that just like each previous season, next year’s bill will have something for everyone.
“From comedy to classical to rock, it’s all there,” said Cormier. “Keep your eyes on our new website for the details coming soon.”
