Resident thanks pastor for assistance on country road
Dear Editor,
The people of Airdrie and particularly the congregation of the Alliance Church should be very proud to have such a fine fellow as a pastor. He is truly indeed a Good Samaritan!
I left Airdrie in the dark after dinner with my son. I missed the turn-off to Highway 2 and found I was on a country road. There was a driveway in which I figured I could back into and turn around. However, I misjudged the distance and backed into the ditch. I could not go back or forward and figured I would have to call AMA.
But I had not been stuck more than three minutes when the young pastor stopped. He straightened the wheels and was able to easily drive the car out of the ditch. He did not think I should drive to Claresholm and tried to phone my son. However, my son did not recognize the number on call display and did not answer. So the police was called. I used my phone to call my son and he recognized the 625 prefix and when I told him the situation, he said if the police had been called, I would have to wait. Meanwhile, the young pastor (and I am sorry I have forgotten your name) stayed with me, making him late for his band practice. Yes, I stayed overnight with my son and drove home next morning.
I just wish to publicly thank you, sir.
Kaye Fisher, Claresholm
