Creative Airdrie asks Airdronians to participate in TV commercial for ARTember
The Creative Airdrie Society is calling for 30 to 40 Airdronians to be cast in a TV commercial for ARTember to air on Global Television this fall.
“This is huge,” said Sherry Shaw-Froggatt, who does communications for Creative Airdrie. “One of the things is showing to the Calgary area there is a lot going on in Airdrie from an art perspective.”
The society is asking for: dancers willing to perform for the commercial, visual artist who can create on the spot, musicians with instruments to make music, photographers with camera gear to capture the event, servers who can dish up good eats for the cameras, face painters who can add some colourful whimsy, actors who can mime a play, and everyday people who can eat gelato, carry balloons or flowers, appear to be reading a good book, those with traditional ethnic costumes and people who can simply smile and wear a volunteer t-shirt.
“It will be a lot of fun and it would be nice to see families come out too,” Shaw-Froggatt said, adding that children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The commercial shoot will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19 and will likely last three hours at the most. Refreshments will not be provided and Shaw-Froggatt suggests participants bring along a bottle of water.
Interested Airdronians must register with Creative Airdrie in advance as identification is required and permission forms must be completed. Shaw-Froggatt said unfortunately there is not enough time to secure ARTember T-shirts for the event so she asks everyone that participates to wear bright green and purple T-shirts that have no logos or obscene language on them.
Global TV is ARTember’s television sponsor and will run the promotional spot for the first half of September.
