Taste of Airdrie to return to ARTember for third year
Taste of Airdrie is returning and bringing some fabulous deals for local restaurants as part of the ARTember celebrations running Sept. 13 to 29.
“(Taste of Airdrie) is absolutely an important part (of ARTember). Food is a big part of culture and it’s great to showcase it as part of Airdrie,” said Sherry Shaw-Froggatt, communications for Creative Airdrie.
The event offers residents the chance to get out and try some great eats at local restaurants by offering specials at all participating establishments.
Shaw-Froggatt said Airdrie has a growing food culture, which can be seen in some of the great independent restaurants in the city.
“It’s starting to reflect the diversity and the socioeconomic profile of the community,” she said.
Thirteen local restaurants are participating in this year’s event and each one has a different special for the entire run of ARTember.
Something new this year is the inclusion of food places that don’t fit into the restaurant category such as The Avenue Cakery and Bakeshoppe and Drizzzles Candy Store.
“Every time you dine out (at a participating restaurant) you get a chance to win a $100 gift card to the restaurant of your choice,” Shaw-Froggat said, adding satiated foodies can fill out a ballot.
