Calgary man dies in single-vehicle accident on Highway 2A
A 46-year-old man from Calgary was killed in a collision on Highway 2A near the Dickson-Stevenson Road turnoff, north of Airdrie in the early morning hours of Sept. 9.
Airdrie Rural RCMP, along with Crossfield Fire and EMS were called to the collision at 3:20 am on Sept. 9.
Officers arrived on scene and located a Chevrolet Tahoe that had left the highway and rolled into the ditch.
The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Police have not released the name of the deceased as next of kin had not been notified as of press time.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Police had not ruled out speed, alcohol and not wearing a seatbelt as factors at press time.
Airdrie RCMP is seeking the assistance of the public in relation to a reported shoplifting on Sept. 1 at the Co-op grocery store on Main Street in Airdrie.
Two women and one man were seen leaving the store with a cart full of groceries valued at approximately $150. The three individuals left in a green Dodge minivan with a Quebec licence plate.
One female suspect is described as East Indian with long black hair, wearing a long black skirt, heavy jewelry and believed to be in her mid 20s to early 30s.
The second female is also East Indian with short hair that may be dyed, she was last seen wearing a long beige skirt with a black shirt and believed to be in her 40s.
The male suspect is described as darker-skinned, thin and was last seen wearing a white tank top, jean shorts and a black baseball cap. He is believed to be in his mid 20s to early 30s and has facial hair trimmed in a chin strap or half goatee.
