Dear Editor,

For many years it has been an Airdrie tradition to have a Fireworks Show on New Year’s Eve.

The event brings several thousand people into Airdrie who shop, eat, drink and perhaps even stay here overnight.

These people are customers of our business establishments.

Some local heroes have already stepped up and offered to partly fund the fireworks: A Van Dyck Plumbing and Heating, Backwood Landscapes & Design Inc. and McDonalds.

The next time you use the services of these Airdrie heroes, say thank you for the fireworks.

Our problem is we need a couple more local heroes. Unless we can find them in the next few days, The New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show will be in danger of being cut back.

This would be a terrible blow to the citizens of Airdrie and surrounding area.

Your business can help by stepping up and sponsoring a portion of the fireworks show.

We have a sponsorship package for the Named Sponsor of the Fireworks Show and other packages that can be combined to fund the show.

These packages recognize the sponsors in many different ways and would get your business tremendous recognition.

Please contact Stewart at paradesairdrie@gmail.com or call 403-948-2741 for more information.

Do it now, time is of the essence.

Stewart McLeish,

Chair of the Airdrie Parade and Fireworks Commitee
