The 2014 Alberta Summer Games committee has launched the official Games website at

Airdrie is hosting the 2014 Alberta Summer Games from July 24 to 27, with more than 3,000 young athletes, coaches, and officials taking part in 15 different sports. Athletes ranging in age from 11 to 17 will compete in traditional summer sports like baseball, basketball, swimming, and cycling.

“Airdrie is ready to showcase our vibrant city to the entire province next summer,” said Mayor Peter Brown.

“We will ensure the athletes, coaches, their families and friends experience a safe, fun event that will create memories to last a lifetime.”

The website will include up-to-date information about the events, transportation and contacts. It will also provide opportunities to become a sponsor, or to volunteer during the Games.

“Make this site one of your favourites and watch as this event unfolds,” said Brown.

As Airdrie gets ready to host the Alberta Summer Games, Banff/Canmore will host the 2014 Alberta Winter Games from Feb. 6 to 9.
