Re: “Another senior doesn’t want organics recycling,” Letter, Jan. 9

Dear Editor,

We are currently restricted to two bags of garbage unlike Calgary who could put out as many bags as they wish and like the person said in your Jan. 9 edition they have over one million people.

The people of Airdrie are handling this two-bag limit very well by bringing their recycling to the different locations that have bins such as Home Depot and the recycling depot on the East Side of the city.

The City of Airdrie council are once again dipping into senior’s small fixed income as well as the rest of the people of Airdrie.

Is the City of Airdrie going to reduce our waste pickup fees by the amount they are going to charge us for bins?

We should have a council member represent each area (ward). This way our wishes can be brought to the attention of our council member.

Kathleen Barnett,
