This winter, Airdrie Public Library (APL) is offering Your Digital Library, a series of one-evening workshops designed to help people connect to the online world and expand their library.

Kicking off the series is E-books @ Your Library on Feb. 4 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The workshop will cover the basics and how to get started: which e-book devices are compatible; how to search for, borrow and download. The evening is free, but online registration is required.

For teen readers, Marigold Library System is excited to offer its 2014 Read-a-thon. Youths aged 12 to 18 with a library card from a Marigold library are invited to create a list of their Top 10 ‘must-reads’ and write a short paragraph about why they chose these books.

The books can be new releases, classics or simply books they have always wanted to read. The submissions will then be shared on

Participants will also be entered for a chance to win a $50 gift card from CrossIron Mills mall. The contest ends Feb. 28. For more information, visit

For families, don’t miss out on our regular Free Family Fun Saturday Stories & Crafts program Feb. 8.

This month’s theme will be Valentine’s Day.
