Dear Editor,

I would like to thank members of the Airdrie Firefighter Department who attended a fire alarm at the Copperstone Village apartments on Feb. 3.

As soon as the fire alarm went off, residents piled outside in the frigid temperature with babies, cats and dogs in tow, all anxious to know what was happening. Two fire trucks were at our building no more than five minutes after the alarm went off.

A unit on the third floor was flooding which caused the alarm to sound. Concerned with what would happen to our neighbour and if our apartment would be alright, firefighters were quick to inform residents of the issue and which units were involved.

Resident were only out in the freezing cold for 20 minutes tops, and because of their quick actions the damage was as minimized as it could be given the scope of the flooding.

S. Wilson,
