Airdrie residents are satisfied

We are glad to see residents are once again happy with the quality of life in Airdrie. (See story on page 1).
As most of us here at the Rocky View Publishing office live in the city, we know what a great place it is to live, work and play but it is nice to have the proof to back that up with the 2014 Citizen Satisfaction Survey showing a 97 per cent satisfaction rate.
Although there were a few downward trends on the survey including a significant decrease (from 52 per cent in 2013 to 33 per cent in 2014) in satisfaction for snow removal service, this is to be expected when we received two-and-a-half times the amount of snow we normally do in December.
All in all, we feel the City’s parks department did a great job clearing the main arterial roads and helping dig out residential neighbourhoods when resources allowed.
We can be proud to say we have some of the highest levels of satisfaction in the province when it comes to our City’s garbage pick-up and library services.
Another pat on the back to the incredible lifestyle in Airdrie is the fact that 99 per cent of respondents said they feel safe in Airdrie during the day and 95 per cent saying they feel safe in the city overall.
Unfortunately, the saying “The squeaky wheel gets the grease” is often accurate. It is nice to see that although there are some people unhappy with the services provided to them, most Airdronians are pleased with the infrastructure and services this city has to offer. Keep up the good work!
