Dear Editor,

I moved to Airdrie a little over five years ago and started filtering my water right away because I didnít like the strong smell of chlorine.

I used Brita filters, which attach to the kitchen faucet.

Although those filters are usually good for three months, I noticed that I could use them for about five months and the water still tasted fine.

Letís fast forward to about six or seven months ago.

Not only have my Brita filters been clogging up within four or five weeks, but the entire units have been jamming as well.

When boiling water, my pots are left with a white residue and a powder-like substance.

What other damage is the water causing?

Iím thinking of the washer, the washing machine, coffee makers, humidifiers and even on our clothes.

I am now quite concerned about the quality of our water, are you?

Danielle Gulizia,
