Airdrie’s Citizens on Patrol (COP) has sold out their annual fundraiser dinner for a fourth year in a row.

The event will be held on April 6 at Il Forno Restaurant and will feature a five course Italian dinner for the approximately 80 guests who were able to score tickets.

“The staff at Il Forno is so gracious in letting us host our dinner at their restaurant and volunteering staff to help us,” said COP President Ennio Ricci.

Last year’s dinner raised more than $1,000 through ticket sales and a silent auction and Il Forno donated $2,500 to COP as well. The money raised from this year’s event will be used for supplies and gas money for COP’s 28 volunteer members.

“Our volunteers have to supply their own vehicles and pay for their own gas, so any help we can get for those things is appreciated,” said Ricci.

In 2013, COP logged approximately 1,500 volunteer hours and 10,000 km to patrol the city of Airdrie 365 days a year, according to Ricci.

While tickets are sold out, Ricci says that they are still accepting donations of items for the silent auction.

“Anything that can give us a bit of a boost is great,” he said.

To donate items, contact Ricci at 403-948-5098.
