Re: “Rockyview Motorsports Park one step closer to completion, March 13.”

Dear Editor,

I am writing in response to your article on new motorsports park northeast of Airdrie. Firstly, I just wanted to point out that I did vote no in your online poll but probably for different reasons that most do. I have to ask the question: Is this some form of politically correct facility that is meant to appease the general motorsports enthusiast? Where is the oval track?? Where is the 1/4 mile drag strip?

I have been involved with various forms of motorsports racing for close to 40 years in literally dozens of very high-end down to grassroots type of facilities. This would include road course, Indy, Nascar all the way down to your small town -mile dirt oval. I honestly don’t believe I have ever seen such a useless amount of money spent to get so little and solve so little. Why even bother?
