On April 14, Larry Bilben, treasurer of the Nose Creek Historical Society, (NCHS) presented Dan McKinnon, the president of the Nose Creek Valley Museum Society, with a cheque for $5,583.75, which will be the last piece of business done by the NCHS.

The Society was incorporated on Oct. 17, 1969 with the goal of preserving the history of the Nose Creek Valley and area.

Over the years, the society was active in creating the Nose Creek Historical Map and publishing a book called 100 Years of Nose Creek Valley History.

The Society also erected cairns at various locations within the Nose Creek Valley including the City of Airdrie to commemorate local historical events.

The last project that was done was to erect cairns at the sites of nine one-room schools in the Nose Creek area. At this time, there appears to be a lack of interest in preserving local history, so the society has been disbanded.
