The Members of the Airdrie Helping Hands 4-H Multi Club first event was trying to recruit members at the Service Club Information Night in Crossfield. November had us attending the District Curling Event at the Crossfield Curling Club. Our members were very busy in December helping out at the Christmas event at the Crossfield Community Hall, attending a Hitmen Game and holding a Secret Santa and Dessert Potluck Christmas Party.

Sydney Lang said, “Being at the Town of Crossfield Christmas event we helped the kids with a lot of things. It was so much fun helping the kids.”

In the New Year, some of our members attended a Regional Curling Day in Airdrie. We held our club public speaking event and then hosted the Area Public Speaking Competition in March.

The Craft kids have completed many different activities throughout the year including ceramics, hand knitting scarves and Halloween yard stakes.

The Outdoor Adventure kids have gone hiking at Barrier Lake, snowshoeing and orienteering in Madden and learned some outdoor survival skills as well.

Samantha Schulze remarked about our club’s latest community service event.

“Being here at the Easter Eggstravaganza is quite fun. Getting to actually help the little kids is awesome. 4-H members of Crossfield get to help decorate eggs, decorate Easter baskets, make cupcakes and garden hedge hogs,” she said.

We are currently running a Flower Fundraiser to raise money to buy club uniforms.

Our Achievement Day is going to be in early June.
