Airdrie Oilmen’s Association to co-host Bikes and Bulls auction

The Airdrie Oilmen’s Association and Bull Riders Canada will host the Bucking Bull Derby and Auction on May 15 in support of the fourth annual Bike and Bulls Charity Event.
“The first event of its kind in the history of Canadian Rodeo, this groundbreaking pre-event is sure to garner the attention the rodeo circuit across Western Canada,” said Adrian Pruden, president of Airdrie Oilmen’s Association.
On May 15 at Ceili’s Irish Pub on Eighth Ave in Calgary, 20 to 25 bulls from stock contractors and bucking bull breeders from across Canada will be entered and auctioned off in the first bucking bull auction in Canada.
“Similar to the Calgary Stampede Chuckwagon Tarp Auction, this exclusive pre-party will be your chance to bid on a bull, name your bull for the event and have your company name in the bull pen at the Friday night bull riding program of the Bikes and Bulls event on Aug. 22,” said Pruden.
The Bikes and Bulls event will be held at the Airdrie Rodeo Grounds.
Video presentations showcasing each bull up for auction will be shown on the big screen at Ceili’s Irish Pub on Eighth Ave in Calgary giving bidders the chance to see their investment in action.
Last year’s Bikes and Bulls raised $30,000 last year. which was donated to Community Links, Airdrie Foodbank, Airdrie & District Victims Assistance, the Airdrie Lionesses, and the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
The Bikes and Bulls Charity Event was created by the Airdrie Oilmen’s Association to assist with the goal of giving back to the Airdrie community by donating the proceeds from special fundraising events.
Every year, the money raised at the event has been donated to various charities, which include Airdrie Community Links, Airdrie Victims Assistance Society and the Airdrie Food Bank.
