Re: “Orchard and hens on the way - urban agriculture project approved,” June 5

Dear Editor,

Old McDonald had a farm in Airdrie,

And on his farm he had some hens.

With a cluck, cluck here, and a poop, poop there; here a cluck, there a poop, everywhere a poop, poop.

Old McDonald had a farm in Airdrie, e i e i, PeeYoo!

The neighbours couldn’t stand the terrible smell,

High levels of ammonia from the hens every day,

So they all decided to move away,

But no one would buy their houses because of the hens next door,

With a poop poop here and a poop poop there; here a poop, there a poop, everwhere a poop poop!

Things really got bad when the mice, mites and parasites moved in,

Then came the coyotes to catch the hens,

Now the kids are afraid to go out to play, the hens have ruined everybody’s day,

Old McDonald had hens in Airdrie, e i e i, PeeYoo!

Mary Anderson,
