Re: “City says organics program showing early signs of success,” June 12

Dear Editor,

I read your write up about the success of the green bins. The only reason that people use the bins is that you are making us pay for them.

All I ever hear is that all levels of government have asked the people.

Whenever I ask people if they were ever consulted, the answer is no.

I was not consulted at all, the bin showed up and I was told to use it. What normal family has that much organic waste? None, I recycle my grass into my lawn.

So, leave me alone. I look after myself, I do not need (someone) telling me how to live. I spent over 39 years in the army, I was able to run my life and household all by myself.

I must say that my wife ran the household, we did pretty well.
