Train tracks should be relocated

On the evening of July 12, we were stopped at the Yankee Valley Blvd. rail crossing since a cargo train was about to pass. Rail maintenance people were there working on the gate controls so the train passed at very slow speed. I counted 160 plus cars, I would say more than half of them transported either chemicals or petroleum gas.
I was quite annoyed because of the time it took the train to pass and to open the gates and was thinking that a city with almost 50,000 inhabitants should not be split by a railroad disrupting people lives; and that it was time to build overpasses.
However, after considering that about 80 cars transported dangerous goods that crossed the middle of the city, I think instead of the badly needed overpasses, the tracks should be relocated outside the city.
It is just a matter of time before we will mourn losses of lives and property because of a cargo train accident.
