Hello Rodeo Fans and Citizens of Airdrie.

These past two months have been a whirlwind! We have been keeping ourselves busy representing the City of Airdrie and the Airdrie Pro Rodeo right from the day we were crowned on July 1. This next year will be full and fun packed with various CPRA, PRCA and FCA Rodeo visits around Alberta and even traveling into the USA.

As well as visits around the community, attracting new rodeo fans and keeping our western heritage alive (is our goal).

We kicked off the month of July with Stampede week, attending the Ranchmans Bull Bustin’, the Calgary Stampede Parade and visiting Royalty day on July 4 and 5. A few of our highlights from the month of July include the Seniors home visits to Bethany Care right here in Airdrie as well as the Spruce Lodge Retirement home in Calgary. Next includes our two days at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede July 23 and 24, where we were treated to a home cooked meal, rode in Grand Entry and the Parade.

Moving into August we’ve started off with another busy month attending the Millarville FCA Rodeo Aug. 1 and 3, Strathmore Parade and Rodeo Aug. 2 and our biggest highlight of our year so far, attending the Omak Stampede in Omak Washington, Aug. 8, 9 and 10. It was such an amazing experience being in a Grand Entry with 40 plus visiting royalty (which will probably be the most royalty we’ll see in one arena, ever). Aside from the crazy hot weather it was really cool to see how a PRCA Rodeo is run as well as Omaks’ World Famous Suicide Race.

We’ve also had a blast participating in the Calgary Police Rodeo, which took place at our Rodeo Grounds Aug. 16.

Keep an eye out for us at your local Airdrie events and this weekends Bikes N’ Bulls.

Thank you so much to our sponsors for their continuous support; we appreciate all that you do.

Also, thank you to the surrounding Rodeo Committees who have hosted us so far, you’re all fantastic.

Until next month stay tuned for more adventures of your 2014 Airdrie Rodeo Royalty.
