Have you been making your list? Did you check it twice? If you haven’t, now might be the the time to start because Mrs. Claus will be opening her shop for one weekend only, Nov. 17 to 19, at the Town and Country Centre.
“While Santa is busy in his workshop putting together all the gifts for nice boys and girls,” said, Shaulyn van Caaren, owner of SVB Events, producer of Mrs. Claus’ Shop Holiday Market. “Mrs. Claus likes to offer a little something extra for parents, families, friend and the young at heart to get through the holidays in a stress free manner.”
With more than 50 vendors, visitors are sure to find something fabulous for that special someone.
“We’ve really tried to elevate the vendor list and the profile of notoriety of this event, so that Airdrie and area residents can come and shop locally with their local vendor so that it’s community supporting community,” van Caaren said.
If getting your Christmas shopping early isn’t exciting enough, the big man himself will be in the building himself. Santa will be taking free photos with families at the new Fotomoji Photo Booth, which can print photos or share digital copies online.
“Families can come and have their professional Santa photo and they can capture that holiday memory without having to stand in line at the mall,” van Caaren said.
She added how important she thinks it is for guests to have the opportunity to support local businesses while getting some great gifts.
“There’s no longer the need to drive into the big city or even drive…to do their quality holiday shopping,” she said. “They can find that all at home.”
The event is free but guests are encouraged to bring a food or monetary donation, which will be accepted at the door on behalf of the Airdrie Food Bank. Running from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 17 and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Nov. 18 and 19.
