The Wheel was not able to include the location and times for the upcoming election forums last week, so here they are again:
Sept. 25 – Turner Valley school – doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Oct. 4 – Valley Neighbours Club – doors open at 8:30 a.m. *please note a.m.
Oct. 10 – Turner Valley school – doors open at 6:30 p.m.
I gave you the wrong number for the exercise co-ordinator last week. Mary Anne’s number is 403-931-3897. I actually gave you Irene Smith’s number and, as she happens to be my sister. It didn’t go unnoticed.
The face lift on the north exterior of our building has begun. Please be patient if you are inconvenienced, as the finished project will be worth any disruption we may have to contend with. Denis has put a lot of hours into this project and we are grateful for his expertise and diligence.
Mark your calendar for the Old Time Family Dance hosted by the Little Church in the Valley at the Flare ‘n’ Derrick Community Hall Sept. 23 from 7–10 p.m. The cost is $10 at the door, 16 and under are free. Enjoy fiddle music by the Gates family band. The dance was a huge success last year. Bring the kids and enjoy.
I was delighted to attend Daniel O’Donnell’s concert at the Jubilee on Tuesday evening. He really puts on a show. The concert lasted for 3 1/4 hours with only a 15 minute break. It was well worth the price of admission and the frustration of parking. I absolutely loved every minute.
The September equinox happens on the 22nd when the sun rises due east and sets due west. It’s the first day of autumn.
