Dec. 6 – Today is our Wednesday afternoon Christmas luncheon and bridge day. To date, we have 43 signed up. Who said bridge was a dying game?
Dec. 7 – Line dance windup following our regular dance session.
Dec. 8 – Come out and support the rec. therapy department bake sale and silent auction at the Oilfields hospital from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Dec. 10 – Enjoy a free concert by the Diamond Valley singers at the Griffiths Centre at 2 p.m.
Dec. 14 – Garden club meeting at 1:30 p.m. We will be making table centers and please bring a dozen Christmas goodies to share.
Dec. 13 and 14 – Christmas dinner at the Griffiths Centre. The Wednesday dinner is sold out and Thursday’s dinner is selling very quickly as well.
The Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes are on the first leg of their journey. Virginia tells me she delivered 318 boxes to the warehouse in Calgary and my daughter in Lethbridge said their area sent 6,034. It makes my heart sing to imagine them being opened by little kids who have none of our luxuries. We are so blessed in our beautiful country.
Duncan and his elves served a superb Christmas dinner to 96 members at our annual Christmas dinner last Sunday. Andy Rivey donated a lovely handmade crèche for a door prize and it was won by Lorna Graham. The evening wound up with 20 bridge players enjoying each other’s company for the remainder of the evening.
Did you know that The Mall of America is owned by Canadians?
