The Travelling Mabels are at Red Deer United Church on Oct. 20, which is the same night that Ed Peekeekoot will be at our library, so you will have to choose between these two outstanding performances.
Jacket Racket is back at the United Church in the Valley. Drop off your gently used winter clothing on Tuesdays from 1-3 p.m. As an alternative you may drop them at the town office, RBC or ATB. Someone would be grateful for that jacket in the back of your closet that you havenít worn for a year or more.
The Legion has opted to forego its regular seniorsí supper this month as there is a turkey supper scheduled at the United Church on Oct. 23, which was the Legionís planned event night.
My granddaughter brought me a souvenir back from her trip to Scotland. Knowing my love of birds, it features the Scottish robin.
To my amazement, the robins in Scotland are much smaller and have only a rusty bib, much like our flickers. I thought a robin was a robin. Apparently that is not the case.
Our garden club meeting was interesting. Sharon shared her knowledge on starting cuttings and we had fun experimenting with several different plants. Our November meeting will welcome Louise Bruns so you wonít want to miss that.
