Students and parents had the opportunity to enjoy a special evening performance by Les Bűcherons on Jan. 29 at École Edwards Elementary School. The French duo shared stories, song, and dance with the students, making the performance fun and interactive for everyone.

Fun at Nose Creek Park

Some lucky Airdrie children had some fun outside at Nose Creek Park on Jan. 27 as they took in the warm temperatures on the playground. This may have been the last time for the little ones to get out and enjoy the spring-like weather for awhile because temperatures dipped below freezing over the weekend.

Celebrating Robbie Burns

The Airdrie Gaelic Society presented their 1st Annual Robbie Burns Night on Jan. 24, at the Balzac Community Hall. The evening, which featured a roast beef dinner with haggis as well as Celtic music and dancing, was a fundraiser for the newly founded Airdrie Scots Pipes and Drums.

Airdrie Koinonia Christian School opens to students

Airdrie Koinonia Christian School finally opened its doors to some of its students on Jan. 6. The school was originally scheduled to open in September 2013, but was delayed do to liens placed on the new building in December 2013 when tradespeople alleged they were not being paid. The long-awaited building now has 116 students from kindergarten to Grade 6 in the building.

Original One Act Play Festival

The Nose Creek Players presented the third annual Original One Act Play on Jan 10 at the Bert Church Live Theatre. The festival included three plays; two original plays from Airdrie authors and a third play call "Audition Anxiety" that was presented by a local director.
