Airdrie man receives two years for aggravated assault

James Melnick, 46, of Airdrie, was sentenced to two years in a federal penitentiary by Provincial Court Judge P.M. McIlhargey on Aug. 22 for the Aggravated Assault of his girlfriend that occurred on Jan. 3, 2014 at a home in the Big Springs neighbourhood in Airdrie.

Airdrie Koinonia Christian School raises lien fund

The new Airdrie Koinonia Christian School (AKCS) will open on Gateway Drive sometime in “late fall,” according to the school’s spokesman Ron Smith. Smith said he believes the majority of the school’s financial woes are behind them and construction on the building will resume in a few days.
