Some may have noticed the leaves are starting to fall and another summer will soon be behind us. We’ll have to tuck our shorts and flip flops back into their drawers and bring out the scarves and boots. Soon we’ll be sipping on pumpkin spice lattes to keep warm on chilly days rather than cooling down with an ice cream cone on a hot day.
Airdrie will become a vibrant, bustling city painted orange and yellow, with multiple annual community events happening around the city and many community groups and sporting organizations preparing for another busy year.
School will also be back in session next week and students will be hitting the books for another year, whether they’re in high school preparing for graduation or entering Grade 2 this year.
With students heading back to the classroom, school zones will be in effect once again, so drivers need to remember to slow down and keep our community safe for little ones crossing the streets.
The speed limit in a school zone is 30 kilometres per hour and drivers are not permitted to pass other vehicles.
School zones in Airdrie are in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on school days.
