The Beiseker Lions Club is looking forward to welcoming visitors from far and wide for its annual Country Fair on June 10.

After being merged last year with Beiseker’s huge, village-wide centennial celebrations, Lions Club Fair committee chairman Bob Carley said the event should be scaling back to more of its usual size this time.

“We expect 350 to 400 people,” he explained. “It’s meant as a community fun day …  It’s really an event for the community, a little bit of celebration, a little bit of fun.”

That does not mean, Carley noted, that visitors coming out to the fair will have a shortage of things to do during the jam-packed day of events.

Starting with a STARS air ambulance pancake breakfast fundraiser at 7 a.m. followed by the community parade at 10 a.m. down Main Street, the day also features such events as a tailgate market, kids zone, a show and shine, a slo-pitch tournament, and a 4-H Show and Sale.

The day will end with a community barbecue supper and family dance.

Carley said the Lions Country Fair is open to anyone who wants to come out and have a good time in Beiseker on June 10, and most events are free of charge.

“It’s open to everyone,” he confirmed. “I am looking forward to having a crowd around us again, have some fun, and let the community enjoy themselves. It’s a full day, and we just hope the community comes out and enjoys it.

“And, of course, we’d like a little nice weather too.”
