High school grad convocation ceremonies taking place in Airdrie this week

This week will see each of Airdrie's high schools celebrate their grade 12 classes at their annual convocation ceremonies.

With the 2022-2023 school year coming to an end next month, seniors from Airdrie's high schools are hitting a major milestone as they move toward graduation and onto a new set of goals, dreams, and ambitions. 

This week will see each of Airdrie's high schools celebrate their grade 12 classes at their annual convocation ceremonies.

Bert Church High School will be celebrating convocation at Genisis Place Recreation Centre on May 25. The ceremony will get underway at 6 p.m. Addressing the graduating students will include the likes of Jessie Schmidt, who was named Bert Church's valedictorian for this year. 

George McDougall High School is also set to host its convocation at Genesis Place. That will take place the following day on May 26 at 4:15 p.m. Also speaking to her classmates on behalf of the school is George McDougall's 2023 valedictorian Kennedy Brown.

W.H. Croxford High School's Grade 12s will be celebrating graduation at the Jack Singer Concert Hall in downtown Calgary. The ceremony will take place on May 26 at 4:30 p.m. Danyal Alibhay Premjee was able to secure the honour of being this year's valedictorian for W.H. Croxford. 

St. Martin de Porres High School is celebrating its 2023 grad class on May 26 at St. Paul's Parish. They will start by having mass at 10 a.m. with the convocation to follow. 

Rocky View School's online school, Summit Trails Online High School, will also the convocation of its graduating students. That will be held at Bert Church LIVE Theatre on May 31 at 6 p.m. Achieving the award of valedictorian for Summit Trails' class of 2023 is Anika Kumar.
