A live musical show will be transporting audience members back in time on Dec. 12 at the Bert Church Live Theatre.

The Airdrie Fire Department and the Airdrie RCMP teams duked it out for bragging rights and to help out a good cause during the Sirens charity hockey game on Sunday to support the Airdrie 1st Club's Christmas Hamper program. Final score 10-7.

The classic story follows Belle, a spirited young woman trapped in a quaint provincial town, and the Beast - a handsome prince cursed by a mysterious enchantress. 

"By having this library (replica) structure for the next month, I think it kind of makes it real and exciting, because it is gingerbread.”

“Every year it gets bigger and bigger,” Kyle said. “If I would spread this out into a normal scale, we can actually fill up the whole house.” 

The saying “It takes a community to raise a child” is unquestionably true, but it could also be applied to public libraries.

Almost 30 local businesses have organized a one-night only shopping extravaganza on Dec. 1.

The voting period is open November 20th to November 30th inclusive.

“It's one of the highlights of our season and it's just great to be able to share that with the City of Airdrie and those who come from other places in Alberta to this concert,” Makosky said.
