Vote for 948 Brewing

Many fellow Airdrie residents will remember the days where all the phone numbers started with 948 and did not have to dial the area code. 948 represents Airdrie and reflects on how it was and how it has grown today. We look forward to adding our story to Airdrie’s timeline and with our home-town roots, we decided 948 would be the perfect name!

948 Brewing Company is an Airdrie based, small batch brewery. Founded by two long time friends, we wanted a way to bring our unique beers to Airdrie and help grow the community we grew up in. We have a small, ten hectolitre brewhouse with 12 fermentors. Our small taproom features 12 constantly rotating taps of flavourful and unique beers, individual cans for sale and growlers to go.

Who they support in the community:
We partner with several other businesses in Airdrie to grow our brand as well as theirs. The Stitching Bees and GT promotions brand and create our merchandise. Switchback Creative has helped us create our digital presence including our in house menu board. We use local artists like Colin Duffy to design our labels, other local artists and woodworkers create art for our taproom walls. We donate products and sponsor a hole at the Airdrie Business Club annual Golf tournament for the Airdrie Hospice society. We work closely with the Airdrie Curling club to sponsor sheets and events.

We work and collaborate with the other three breweries in town (Atlas, Balzac and Fitzsimmons) as well as the City of Airdrie to help promote tourism and the Airdrie Ale Trail. We are alumni of Airdrie Smartstart. We've attended Airdrie Fest as a vendor every year. We sponsor and provide meeting space for the Nose Creek Players theater group. Bottles collected at the brewery are donated to several local youth sports teams, gymnastics, as we as the food bank. 948 Brewing has worked with the Airdrie Health foundation running online tastings during the pandemic to raise money for their needs. We partnered with the Airdrie Health Foundation in the fall of 2021, brewed a beer that they contributed to and proceeds from the sales of that beer went to purchasing additional equipment for the Health Foundation.
