Strathmore RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect, wanted for questioning in the theft of multiple stolen vehicles that were found at a rural property in southeast Rocky View County earlier this month.

The detachment's members attended a rural property near Langdon on Aug. 3, after receiving information a stolen vehicle was located there. Upon arrival, members encountered an unrelated vehicle, later determined to be stolen, which fled the property.

The late-2000’s model blue F-350 pick-up truck fled the area through a large hay bale and onto a nearby road, according to an RCMP press release. Strathmore members in the area monitored and later attempted the use of a Tire Deflation Device, which the offender avoided by driving through a ditch, narrowly losing control.

The vehicle was monitored with the assistance of HAWCS and other Calgary-area RCMP detachments for approximately four hours until efforts were discontinued.

A search warrant was obtained for the rural property and searched by Strathmore RCMP with assistance from Langdon-based RCMP members, the RCMP Auto Theft Section, RCMP Police Service Dog, and Strathmore General Investigation Section.

In total, nine vehicles, one trailer filled with property believed to be stolen, one rifle, and one motorbike were recovered from the property. The investigation is ongoing and charges are expected for at least one individual.

Strathmore RCMP would like to request public assistance in identifying the male suspect who fled the property. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his mid 20s to mid 30s with a dark-coloured sweater and ball cap.
