The future junior-senior high school in Langdon is set to open in September 2024.

Rocky View Schools (RVS) is hosting a public consultation session with additional online engagement to assist in formally deciding the grade configuration and attendance area of its future school in Langdon.

The school is set to open in September 2024 and has been planned as a junior-senior high school. According to RVS, this will likely change attendance boundaries in the future for Chestermere High School, as well as grade configurations of Sarah Thompson School, Langdon School, and Indus School.

RVS is inviting parents/guardians and community members to an open house on May 2, where they are invited to provide their input. The meeting will be held form 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Langdon School, located at 17 Brander Avenue NW.

For those who cannot make the meeting in person, feedback may also be provided online as of May 2 through RVSEngage.com. All feedback must be received by May 25 at 5 p.m. and the RVS Board of Trustees will use that feedback to help determine an accommodation plan for the new school.

Afterwards, Langdon stakeholders will have the opportunity to present to the board at the public meeting on May 25, starting at 10 a.m. at the RVS Education Centre in Airdrie. RVS also livestreams its board meetings via Zoom – rockyview.zoom.us/my/rvsboard

Anyone who wishes to present must submit their request no later than May 19 to RVS Superintendent Greg Luterbach. Requests can be emailed to [email protected]

According to RVS, the Board of Trustees will consider the accommodation plan for the new school in Langdon at their public meeting on June 15 (subject to change). A notice will be issued to all stakeholders regarding any decision following the public meeting.
