Firefighters on scene of crash outside Airdrie Public Library

Airdrie firefighters and local RCMP were at the scene of a minor crash outside of the Airdrie Public Library (APL) this afternoon.

Airdrie firefighters and local RCMP were at the scene of a minor crash outside of the Airdrie Public Library (APL) this afternoon.

According to firefighters at the scene, the driver of a midsized car parked in front of the Scotiabank beside the APL went forward instead of reverse, crashing into a bike rack fastened to the ground outside the bank. The driver of the car was not harmed and there was no damage to the exterior of the bank. The bike rack, however, was not salvageable.

Deputy Chief of the Airdrie Fire Department Garth Rabel said the whole thing was an accident and that no one was hurt.
